Sorry…I checked out for a bit, I am not sure I am fully checked back in, but I have something “fun” I wanted to post. There is a type of photography called lo-fi. The way I see it, the idea is to worry about the content of the shot and not so much about the technical aspects. The people shooting lo-fi are for the most part using film cameras. (I imagine some would say that you can only shoot lo-fi on film.) Anyway one popular lo-fi camera is a Holga. It is essentially a toy camera, but it has a very distinct style. So a couple weeks ago I picked one up…sort of. See I didn’t actually go out and get a new camera…I really have no desire whatsoever to deal with film. What I did go out and get is a new iPhone app. The app has several “filters” that apply styles to the image. One of the styles is Holga Helga.
