McCafe Latte
May 29th, 2009Fisher Film
May 27th, 2009I am not sure that this is a perfect example of highkey lighting, but it is pretty close. Highkey kind of goes against my normal style, I am more of a lowkey guy…
Anyway…I am thinking about going back to film…

Ikea Time
May 26th, 2009Yesterday we went to Ikea on a mission to get a new couch. Since we knew what we were there for we were using the shortcuts to get over to the pickup up area. As we are zipping along I happen to look up and see this shot…

Memorial Day
May 25th, 2009Earlier today I took a few pics of the flag flapping in the breeze, but they didn’t look so great once I got them on the computer. Of course I didn’t figure this out until it was already dark, so I had to come up with something else. I think I did OK.

On The Rocks
May 23rd, 2009You want to know a secret?
OK, don’t tell anyone, but there is no whiskey in that glass. I took a page from the movies and used iced tea.

The Lab
May 22nd, 2009I recently accepted the fact that I am not a landscape photographer. Looking through my posts, this is pretty obvious. Even though I very rarely take landscapes, somewhere deep in my brain I was hanging onto the notion that I was. I still like to take landscapes, but landscape photography requires a level of commitment that I just can’t get to. See…there is a certain time of day that provides the best light for landscapes, it is called the golden hour and it happens at dawn…in case you don’t know…dawn happens like really really early in the morning. To be truthful, there is a golden hour at night that happens before sunset, but most of the really compelling landscapes are coming from that first hour of the day.
Bottom line…I have accepted my place as a photographer of the mundane!

Rainy Days
May 20th, 2009Here in FL it has been raining for what seems like 3 months, and this is what see when I try to look out my office window…
